Singapore Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso won today's Singapore Grand Prix in the Ferrari with the Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber rounding out the podium in second and third respectively. McLaren's Jenson Button finished fourth, Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes finished fifth, Rubens Barrichello in the Williams finished sixth, Robert Kubica finished seventh in the Renault, Adrian Sutil in the Force India finished eighth, Barrichello's teammate Nico Hulkenberg finished ninth, while Alonso's teammate Felipe Massa finished tenth.

I was happy about Alonso holding off Vettel for pretty much the entire 61-lap dash around Marina Bay and it was also nice to see Nick Heidfeld and Christian Klien return to F1 as starting drivers. McLaren's Lewis Hamilton scored his second consecutive DNF after making contact with Webber on lap 36.

The results give Mark Webber 202 points, Alonso 191, Hamilton 182, Vettel 181, and Button 177. Red Bull have 383 points, McLaren at 359, and Ferrari at 317.

The next race is the Japanese Grand Prix in two weeks time. On to Japan.

The 53-lap race did feature Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren going out early which could end up being costly to his title hopes. Other than that, the race was pretty uneventful.
