Turkish Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton won today's Turkish Grand Prix in the McLaren with his teammate Jenson Button finishing second and Mark Webber in the Red Bull rounding out the podium. Michael Schumacher finished fourth in the Mercedes, his teammate Nico Rosberg finished fifth, Robert Kubica in the Renault finished sixth, the Ferraris of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso finished seventh and eighth respectively, Adrian Sutil finished ninth in the Force India, and Kamui Kobayashi in the BMW Sauber rounding out the points. Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull scored a DNF when he crashed into his teammate Webber on lap 40.

The 58-lap dash through the Istanbul track was an eventful one as I loved seeing the Red Bulls clash the way they did and hope it happens more often, LOL. It would have been a lot better to see both Red Bulls score a DNF but I'm still satisfied with this particular outcome. I liked seeing Button finish on the podium and Sutil finish in the points again.

The result leaves Webber in the lead in the Driver's Championship with 93 points, Button with 88, Hamilton with 84, Alonso with 79, Vettel with 78, Kubica and Massa both with 67, and Rosberg with 66. The Constructor's Championship has McLaren with 172 points, Red Bull with 171, Ferrari with 146, and Mercedes with 100.

The next race is the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal in two weeks. I always look forward to my home Grand Prix and the atmosphere in Montreal on race weekend should be amazing as always.

On to Montreal.

Monaco Grand Prix

Mark Webber won today's 68th running of the Monaco Grand Prix in the Red Bull while teammate Sebastian Vettel finished second and Robert Kubica in the Renault rounding out the podium. Other notables that rounded out the 78-lap dash throught he streets of Monte Carlo included Felipe Massa in the Ferrari finishing fourth, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton finishing fifth, Michael Schumacher in the Mercedes finishing sixth, Massa's teammate Fernando Alonso finishing seventh, Schumacher's teammate Nico Rosberg finishing eighth, and Adrian Sutil finishing ninth. Hamilton's teammate Jenson Button scored a DNF on lap 3.

As I've pointed out in previous posts, I'm not really a huge Webber fan and don't think I will ever be but I do respect what he's accomplished so far. He'll likely be a serious contender for the title. Another notable in this eventful race was that Michael Schumacher turned in another strong performance to go with his performance in Spain although an overtaking incident under a Safety Car with Alonso is under investigation.

With Webber's 2nd consecutive victory, that puts him in a share of the lead with his teammate Sebastian Vettel in the Driver's Title with 78 points each, Alonso with 75, Button with 70, Massa with 61, Kubica and Hamilton both at 59, and Rosberg with 56. The Constructor's Title is just as close with Red Bull at 156 points, Ferrari with 136, and McLaren at 129.

The next race is in two weeks time with the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul.

Spanish Grand Prix

Mark Webber won today's Spanish Grand Prix in the Red Bull while Spaniard Fernando Alonso finished second in the Ferrari while Webber's teammate Sebastian Vettel rounded out the podium by finishing third. Michael Schumacher scored his best result this season by finishing fourth in the Mercedes while Jenson Button finished fifth in the McLaren, Alonso's teammate Felipe Massa finished sixth, Adrian Sutil finished seventh in the Force India, Robert Kubica finished eighth in the Renault, while Rubens Barrichello in the Williams and Jaime Alguersuari in the Toro Rosso rounded out the top ten. Other notables included Lewis Hamilton scoring a DNF with about 2 laps to go and Schumacher's teammate Nico Rosberg finishing in thirteenth place.

The 66-lap race in Barcelona provided Webber with a chance to shrug off some early season frustrations and same could be said of Schumacher since many observers wonder when he would get his mojo back. Perhaps this was the race that he did.

The results of this race leave Button still on top of the Driver's Championship with 70 points, Alonso with 67, Vettel with 60, Webber with 53, Rosberg with 50, Hamilton and Massa each with 49, and Kubica at 44 points. The Constructor's Championship is just as close with McLaren leading the way with 119 points, Ferrari with 116, and Red Bull with 113. The next closest team is Mercedes with 72 points.

The next race is next Sunday with the Monaco Grand Prix at Monte Carlo.
