British Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso won today's British Grand Prix in the Ferrari, with the Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber finishing second and third respectively. Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren finished fourth, Alonso's teammate Felipe Massa finished fifth, Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes finished sixth, Sergio Perez in the Sauber finished seventh, Nick Heidfeld in the Renault finished eighth, Rosberg's teammate Michael Schumacher finished ninth, and Jaime Alguersuari finished tenth in the Torro Rosso.

The 52-lap dash through the Silverstone circuit was a fairly exciting one as it was not another dominating performance by the pole-sitter and the battle for second and fourth came down to the wire. I am also glad that Alonso won as having Vettel run away with the championship would have made the season very boring. Prince Harry was also on hand and handed the winner's trophy to Alonso after the race.

The results leave Vettel in the lead at 204 points, Webber at 124, Alonso at 112, Hamilton and Jenson Button both at 109, and Massa at 52. Red Bull stands at 328 points, McLaren at 218, and Ferrari at 164.

The next race is in two weeks time with the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.

On to Germany.
