Mark Webber won today's Spanish Grand Prix in the Red Bull while Spaniard Fernando Alonso finished second in the Ferrari while Webber's teammate Sebastian Vettel rounded out the podium by finishing third. Michael Schumacher scored his best result this season by finishing fourth in the Mercedes while Jenson Button finished fifth in the McLaren, Alonso's teammate Felipe Massa finished sixth, Adrian Sutil finished seventh in the Force India, Robert Kubica finished eighth in the Renault, while Rubens Barrichello in the Williams and Jaime Alguersuari in the Toro Rosso rounded out the top ten. Other notables included Lewis Hamilton scoring a DNF with about 2 laps to go and Schumacher's teammate Nico Rosberg finishing in thirteenth place.
The 66-lap race in Barcelona provided Webber with a chance to shrug off some early season frustrations and same could be said of Schumacher since many observers wonder when he would get his mojo back. Perhaps this was the race that he did.
The results of this race leave Button still on top of the Driver's Championship with 70 points, Alonso with 67, Vettel with 60, Webber with 53, Rosberg with 50, Hamilton and Massa each with 49, and Kubica at 44 points. The Constructor's Championship is just as close with McLaren leading the way with 119 points, Ferrari with 116, and Red Bull with 113. The next closest team is Mercedes with 72 points.
The next race is next Sunday with the Monaco Grand Prix at Monte Carlo.
