Monaco Grand Prix

Mark Webber won today's 68th running of the Monaco Grand Prix in the Red Bull while teammate Sebastian Vettel finished second and Robert Kubica in the Renault rounding out the podium. Other notables that rounded out the 78-lap dash throught he streets of Monte Carlo included Felipe Massa in the Ferrari finishing fourth, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton finishing fifth, Michael Schumacher in the Mercedes finishing sixth, Massa's teammate Fernando Alonso finishing seventh, Schumacher's teammate Nico Rosberg finishing eighth, and Adrian Sutil finishing ninth. Hamilton's teammate Jenson Button scored a DNF on lap 3.

As I've pointed out in previous posts, I'm not really a huge Webber fan and don't think I will ever be but I do respect what he's accomplished so far. He'll likely be a serious contender for the title. Another notable in this eventful race was that Michael Schumacher turned in another strong performance to go with his performance in Spain although an overtaking incident under a Safety Car with Alonso is under investigation.

With Webber's 2nd consecutive victory, that puts him in a share of the lead with his teammate Sebastian Vettel in the Driver's Title with 78 points each, Alonso with 75, Button with 70, Massa with 61, Kubica and Hamilton both at 59, and Rosberg with 56. The Constructor's Title is just as close with Red Bull at 156 points, Ferrari with 136, and McLaren at 129.

The next race is in two weeks time with the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul.
