2005 Canadian Grand Prix

Today's Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal saw Kimi Raikkonen take the chequered flag in the McLaren-Mercedes while Michael Schumacher finished second in the Ferrari and Rubens Barrichello (also in the Ferrari) finishing in third. Pole-sitter Jenson Button did not finish the race after hitting the "Welcome to Quebec" wall at the start/finish area. Canadian Jacques Villeneuve finished in ninth place (just once spot short of collecting a point). Both Renaults of Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella did not finish due to a crash and mechanical failure repectively. Federal Transport Minister Jean Lapierre presented the race winner's trophy on the podium while Montreal mayor Gerald Tremblay presented the winning team trophy.

This race was really exciting towards the end since the top two drivers were only 1.3 seconds apart at the end and was really entertaining in my opinion.

The next race will be the United States Grand Prix next Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
