Malaysian Grand Prix

Kimi Raikkonen won today's Malaysian Grand Prix in the Ferrari. Robert Kubica finished second in the BMW-Sauber, while Heikki Kovalainen finished third in the McLaren-Mercedes. Kovalainen's team mate Lewis Hamilton finished in fifth, while Raikkonen's team mate Felipe Massa scored a DNF on lap 31 of the 56-lap race at the Sepang circuit in Kuala Lampur. Kubica's team mate Nick Heidfeld finished sixth, while Fernando Alonso in the Renault finished eighth, and Jenson Button finished tenth in the Honda.

The race featured little in terms of lead changes as Massa held the pole position and led the race until his first pit stop, and Raikkonen took over the lead after that until the finish. Unlike Australia where only seven of 22 starters finished the race, this time 17 out of 22 starters finished the race.

The results leave Hamilton still in the lead in the Driver's Championship with 14 points, Raikkonen and Heidfeld at 11 each, Kovalainen at 10, Kubica with 8, Nico Rosberg in the Williams-Toyota and Alonso at 6 each, and Jarno Trulli in the Toyota with 5. The Constructor Championship has McLaren-Mercedes in the lead with 24 points, BMW with 19, Ferrari at 11, and Williams-Toyota at 9 points.

The next race is the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sakhir on April 6.
