2005 Turkish Grand Prix

I just thought I'd give my two cents on the inaugural Turkish Grand Prix which was held last Sunday at the Istanbul Otodrom on the outskirts of Istanbul on the Asian side of the Bosporus River. The circuit won rave reviews from drivers and fans alike although the turn number 8 is becoming quite infamous judging from some of the mishaps during qualifying and the race itself. Kimi Raikkonen won the race with Fernando Alonso coming in second and Juan Pablo Montoya coming in third. Jenson Button finished fifth, while Jacques Villeneuve finished eleventh. The race was one of the more exciting ones this season and was called a "Turkish Delight."

The next race is on September 4th with the Italian Grand Prix at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Monza. Ferrari fans will be out in full force that's for sure.
