Malaysian Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel won today's Malaysian Grand Prix in the Red Bull with Jenson Button in the McLaren finishing second and Nick Heidfeld finishing third in the Renault. Vettel's teammate Mark Webber finished fourth, the Ferraris of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso finished fifth and sixth respectively, Kamui Kobayashi in the Sauber finished seventh, Button's teammate Lewis Hamilton finished eighth after being assessed a 20-second penalty which dropped him from seventh place, Michael Schumacher in the Mercedes finished ninth, while Paul diResta in the Force India finished tenth for the second straight race (and second career F1 race).

The question hovering above the 56-lap race at the Sepang Circuit in Kuala Lampur was whether or not the race would be marred by rain but was able to dodge that bullet for the most part. Vettel was never really challenged for the race lead after starting from pole position but was not necessarily a boring race.

With the results of this race, Vettel remains the leader of the Driver Championship with 50 points, Button at 26 points, Hamilton with 24, Webber with 22, Alonso with 20, Massa with 16, and Heidfeld with 15 points. Red Bull maintain their lead in the Constructor's Championship with 72 points, McLaren with 48, Ferrari with 36, and Renault with 30.

The next race is the Chinese Grand Prix next week in Shanghai. On to China.
